Who is it for?

Lumberjack, or Høggern as it is known in Norway, is ideal for darts players of an intermediate and above skill level, looking for a challenging and engaging game.

The game is suitable for individuals or teams, which means social gatherings with friends, colleagues, or anyone looking for a game that combines skill with strategic depth.

With its evolving difficulty and automated scoring through FLYBY, Lumberjack offers a greater test of darts prowess than games such as High Striker, 201 or Killer.

Objective

Lumberjack is a strategic and demanding darts game inspired by the traditional game of Half-It.

Players must hit specific segments on the dartboard to score points on varied and often increasingly-difficult targets.

Scoring

• Each player or team throws three darts per turn.
• Every round, all teams or players aim at the same numbered segment. Each round, the target segment for all players progresses to a new location on the board.
• That round's target is indicated by the flashing area on the FLYBY monitor.
• Successfully hitting the designated segment earns points using regular darts scoring. FLYBY automatically calculates and updates scores.

Rules

• Half-It: If a player fails to hit the target segment, their total score from all previous rounds is halved.
• Advancing: Whether they hit the target segment for a round or not, players all move on to the next segment in the sequence together. FLYBY tracks player progress and updates the current target segment.
• Increasing Difficulty: The targets become more creative and challenging as the game progresses, such as hitting only specific double or treble rings.

Winning the Game

Lumberjack continues until a set number of rounds have been completed, and finishes with the target as a bullseye (or half-bull).

The player or team with the highest total score at the end of the game — less whatever has been chopped in half along the way — is declared the winner.
