FLYBY GAMES

Cricket

Who is it for?

Singles, doubles or teams, of intermediate skill level and above.

No matter the number of players, Cricket is always played in two teams.

Cricket is perfect for players who enjoy games of timing, pressure, and risk vs reward. With its balance of offence (scoring) and defence (closing), it's ideal for social settings and competitive play alike. The FLYBY system keeps everything fast, fair, and exciting.

Objective

Cricket is a fast-paced, tactical game, based on a darts classic, where players open targets, score points, and aim to outsmart and outscore their opponents before the 10 rounds are up.

Scoring

The only targets in play are: 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 and Bullseye.

Opening Targets: Before anyone can score points, a target must be hit 3 times (via singles, doubles or trebles) to be "opened", and in play.

  • Single = 1 hit
  • Double = 2 hits
  • Treble = 3 hits

Scoring Points: Once a target is open, any additional hits on that number score points. e.g. Hit treble 20 after opening 20 = 60 points.

Block Your Opponents

Closing Targets: You can close your opponents' open numbers permanently by also hitting their numbers three times.

Rounds

  • Cricket's 10-round limit keeps the pace high.
  • Look out for Double and Triple Rounds, where points can multiply fast.
  • FLYBY will automatically display when these rounds are active.

Winning the Game

  • The winner is the player or team with the highest score at the end of 10 rounds.
  • If scores are tied, the team with more targets open wins.
  • FLYBY handles all scoring, tie-breakers, and round timing.

A Team Game

With more than two players, Cricket on FLYBY is a team competition, combining strategic coordination with the pressure of shared scoring.

  • Shared Scoreboard: All players on the same team contribute to a collective score and work together to open and protect target numbers.
  • Turn Rotation: FLYBY automatically rotates turns within the team, ensuring equal participation and keeping the game fast-paced and fair.
  • Openings and Scoring Apply to the Team: Once one team member opens a number, it's open for the whole team. Any team member can then score on it.

Team Strategy

While players throw individually, success often comes from teams who plan together:

  • Which targets should we open first?
  • Should we prioritise scoring or shutting them down?
  • Who's best at certain segments?

Smart coordination between teammates can swing a match. FLYBY handles the admin; you bring the strategy.
